Experiencia fantástica: I had a gummy smile and was looking for a way to improve it without veneers. Dr. Oliver’s office was amazing! I flew in from the US and they were willing to accommodate my schedule, I was seen right away. The work was done in the first 3days of my trip so my husband and I got to spend the rest of the week enjoying our vacation! I appreciate the upfront, honest communication and receiving a quote before making an appointment. They didn’t try to sell me on treatments I didn’t need and I even paid less than was quoted because some things were deemed unnecessary. I speak very limited Spanish and had no issue communicating my needs/concerns. I could not be happier with my experience! If I could give Dr. Oliver’s office more than 5 stars I would. Jose is a fantastic person to deal with and very supportive. Carlos from Natal is very helpful and will assist with anything you need for your stay in Cartagena. Prices are beyond reasonable for the level of quality of service here. I will recommend researching the hotels in comparison to Airbnb, They can be very expensive in this area. Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately I have to update my initial 5-Star review to 1-Star. I went to a dentist local for some light pain. The root canal done there in October 2023 is bad. I will now need to get the tooth pulled and get an implant.

Experiencia fantástica: We returned to Dr. Julio Oliver in Cartagena in September 2025 (last year I had porcelain veneers put in) for a second opinion about our American dentist recommendation to perform 4-6 root canals (surgery plus caps). After taking x-rays and a thorough exam, Dr. Oliver did not recommend any root canals, but only a deep cleaning to fix my bleeding gum problems. After performing the deep cleaning (which cost around $200 USD) and removing the excessive amount of plaque our American dentist(s) missed, my gum health was immediately restored and the bleeding stopped. For basically $200, I avoided 4-6 root canals and saved at least $15,000 USD. We have and will continue to rate Dr. Julio Olive 5 stars. Sincerely, Melissa & Wes Anderson

I specifically wondered about a possible implant. Some of what was done to my teeth worked out far better than I could have imagined!! When the beginning part of my implant began I was prescribed a pain medication. I only took one pill after the anesthesia wore off and have had absolutely no pain since!! Experiencia fantástica: I have just completed a week with Dr. Julio Oliver. I had 3 crowns replaced (2 were over 30yrs old) and 17 porcelain veneers placed. My concerns upfront were addressed successfully (tooth sensitivity, veneer sizing, and quality). The logistics were handled by the office and were well communicated and the drivers were excellent (Thanks to Victor for serving as my interpreter for the remote X-ray I needed on day one). I was there for 7 days and 2 of those days were 3 hours (approx.) in the chair, the other days were either free or under an hour in duration. The office is clean, comfortable and updated. The staff was proficient in English and very good. My new smile came out great. Dr. Oliver is a very talented dentist, I recommend him highly.

Living in the United States we all know dental care to be extraordinarily high in cost and unattainable for most people. I went to my hometown dentist and was quoted over $47,000 for all of the dental care I needed. I knew that that would never be attainable for me so I started looking for care outside of the country. This is where I found. Dr.Julio Oliver. After doing extensive research from his testimonials, I knew this would be my best shot for great quality care at an affordable cost. I took the leap of faith and reached out. After sending them, my previously created treatment plan and was given a price of less than a quarter of what I was originally quoted in the US, I booked my flights and accommodations. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt this has been the absolute best experience I have ever had at a dental office In my life. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I found that the facility follows all of the same sanitary and sterilization practices. I healed faster than any other procedure I have ever had and when I needed some last minute additional work, they were quick to squeeze it into my trip. As a person who has always had poor experiences here in the United States, this trip was life-changing. I didn’t feel like I was in a scheme where they were out for any money. I was given a thorough examination and a specified treatment plan was curated specifically for my needs. I will be returning in six months for the second half of my treatment and I am eagerly looking forward to it. I can even speak strongly about the shuttle service they included in my treatment plan. The driver was amazing and by the end of the trip we found ourselves being close friends still in contact. The office took all of the stress out of the trip. We were shuttled to and from the airport as well as all necessary appointments. The driver even assisted us in filling out our paperwork to ensure it was done correctly. The driver Carlos Ligardo - provided friendly service and was just a genuinely very nice person I felt safe with Carlos and he was very accommodating. I was very pleased with his service and he’s a pleasure to meet. 3. The staff and location : very very friendly staff the ladies were very nice and friendly . The location was very very clean and bright and comfortable. 4 Dr. Oliver . Very warm and gentle . The promise was “no pain” and i experienced absolutely NONE. He was very precise and you can tell he genuinely cares to give you quality work . I can’t thank him enough. The process: I was petrified and nervous. On the first visit I had to get my gums shaved and my teeth prepped and shaved. I picked the shade I wanted my veneers to be according to how my real tooth look and what would go best with my expectations . I have had a huge gap in the front middle of my teeth for most of my life. Part of the prep was to temporarily close my gap . That was a little hard to get used to it gave me a little lisp as my tongue is use to being able to roam freely through my gap that didn’t exist anymore . Although my teeth were shaved you could BARELY tell. I did not have to walk around with baby shark teeth thank God ! I had no pain and went about eating and drinking and touring Colombia as normal . There was slight sensitivity with eating certain things as the teeth were shaved and gums more exposed but it is manageable you just dont know until you chew or bite into something it was easy to figure out a comfortable way to eat ( I love food) and the sensitivity did not come in the way of that. Two days pass and the second visit was the real deal . The lab had created my veneers based on the impressions Dr Oliver took . I was so nervous but ready to see the results. Because of nerves it seems like it took so long but really did not take long for the procedure. Once again slight sensitivity but PAINLESS. In the end when my new smile was revealed I am not sure it was what I expected but i understand it is more of a shell shock based on what I am used to seeing in the mirror and now a whole brand new set of teeth . My real teeth were VERY tiny so the veneers felt a little big and I’m sure it will take me some time to get use to . The smile is wonderful I have never thought I would have straight teeth in my life . I am just so happy I am able to have a real smile . Experiencia negativa: I needed a crown- lower far back right molar, next to it is an empty space and next to that is another crown. So I need a bridge. Their cost is $2000 American. RIDICULOUS! I spend $52 a month at DELTA DENTAL and get a free cleaning every 5 months. My dentist in Great Falls Virginia quoted me $1357.50 after the DELTA DENTAL policy. If you don’t know Great Falls, it’s probably one of the wealthiest suburbs of Washington DC. So I think Dental Tourism is extremely overpriced at $2000. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT PRICES AND COMPARE. LOOK AT DENTAL PLANS IN THE US BEFORE MAKING YOUR DECISION. Also: I had a teeth cleaning a year ago spent $80 and it helped a little bit but when they were done, they said you could use one more treatment. It would cost another $80. Needless to say, I wasn’t thrilled. RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE: Excuse me but my dentist in Great Falls, Virginia, (which is a very wealthy area of the DC suburbs) does not in any way use imperfect materials or lower grade materials and he’s an excellent dentist. I looked at you guys for PRICE and your price is outrageous for Colombia, even if you give amazing service and your dentist skills are exemplary. For $52 a month I’m on a dental health plan that gives me two full cleanings every five months And for the three part bridge, I’m paying $1352.50 compared to your $2000. USA people should be looking more into what I’m doing than going to you because of your price that’s crazy amount of money for Columbia.

Experiencia negativa: My elderly and disabled father went to their office on recommendation since he was in Cartagena, and was openly disrespected. The disrespect was so obvious that when I got involved, the first text response to me telling them his name was to talk negatively of him. They could not even provide an estimate of the maximum possible labor cost, which every other dentist has provided. Again, not an estimate of the actual cost, just their maximum prices. A very standard question that determines if they are overcharging in comparison to other international dentists. They could not provide an answer to this basic question regarding price ranges. Worst, then to openly criticize a customer who is asking a basic question shows they have no honor. Comparing between many international dental experiences, this is the only experience that left such a negative impact. They were incapable and disrespectful. All they did was waste both of our time.

I flew in from the United States, and upon arriving in Cartagena, I was greeted by a friendly driver holding a sign with my name on it. Although he spoke limited English, he was eager to communicate and made sure I was comfortable, even walking me to my Airbnb door to ensure I arrived safely. The next day, I had my first appointment with Dr. Oliver. I was nervous, but I was warmly welcomed by Angie, Dr. Oliver's assistant, who spoke excellent English and explained the process in detail. After a quick consultation with Dr. Oliver, I was instructed to sit in the dental chair. He took an x-ray to check the root of a chipped tooth, which put me at ease. Though he’s a man of few words (maybe because he's not completely fluent in English), Dr. Oliver was efficient, and after a few shots of Novocain, he began prepping my teeth for the veneers. The process was painless, and within no time, he created and installed a temporary crown for my front teeth. I was so impressed by how natural the temporary crown looked that all my initial fears disappeared. Because of the Independence Day holiday, the lab needed 7 days to create the permanent veneers instead of 5 days, which was not a problem since I had planned to stay in Cartagena for an extra week. I recommend anyone coming from abroad to consider extending your trip by 3-5 days, just in case you need extra time for bite adjustments or cosmetic touch-ups. My first appointment was quick, only about two hours, and I was told I wouldn’t need to come back until the following week for the permanent veneers. I had expected to visit the office daily, so this was a pleasant surprise. A week later, I returned with a friend who is fluent in Spanish to help with communication. Having someone who speaks the language is definitely helpful to ensure you can express any concerns or preferences you may have. The installation of my permanent veneers took about two hours, and the difference was truly astounding. At first, I was a little unsure since the veneers were such a noticeable change from my natural teeth. However, after a couple of minor adjustments to perfect the fit, I was thrilled with the results. I took a few days to get used to the new veneers, eating, talking, and taking photos. On the day I flew back home, Dr. Oliver’s team fit me in for a final round of adjustments and provided me with a mouth guard for sleeping, which was much appreciated. Two weeks later, I’m beyond satisfied with my new smile. I chose the BL4 shade, and I get so many compliments on how natural they look—exactly what I wanted. I didn’t want a bright, "Hollywood" white smile, and the color is perfect. My speech was a bit affected at first, but it’s slowly returning to normal. Overall, I’m very pleased with my experience and the final result. If you’re considering veneers or any dental work with Dr. Oliver, I highly recommend bringing someone who is fluent in Spanish to help navigate the process. But I can ASSURE YOU THIS IS THE DENTIST YOU NEED TO VISIT ! I got a quote from them and I didn’t make an appointment to go see them until after a year later and they kept the same price even thou I needed more work than I initially thought, I also want to note that he is super gentle and his staff is caring and genuine loving and they speak perfect English. I am super sensitive and feel everything and so I needed lots of anesthesia not because he was rough but because I’m super nervous about dental work and I can tell you I am super happy and what hurt the most literally was the prick of the initial anesthesia application, I had 3 extractions and 3 metal implant post on the same day !!! And I was out and about in town a few hours later with no issues at all ! This dental clinic is worth the visit, you will not regret it. I have a full mouth restoration BTW i actually want to go back for cleanings every six months

I was provided water upon request and they periodically moisturized my lips. Payment was easy, they accept most major US credit cards. I would recommend the service!

I did an online consultation, sent pictures and told them the services I wanted. They responded within a few a hours and sent me an estimate of work and pricing. They don’t ask for money to reserve an appointment all the want it’s a confirmation flight if you’re not in Colombia. They provide a driver to pick you up from the airport and to all appointments. On the first visit Dr. Oliver will go over what work will be done and will get started if he has the time. Dr. Oliver is kind, gentle, honest and very professional. He will not force you to do work you don’t need to like other dentists, he will give you recommendations and it’s up to you to decide. He was very gentle I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort. I love my smile!! Trust me it is worth the money and the time!! You also get to explore Colombia, where the food is delicious!!!

New people cannot even tell they are veneers and my dentists at home all compliment the job and Dr. Oliver's work saying they have to look closer because they thought they were my real teeth during cleanings. Process very easy for me personally as I didn't need any gum shaping so there was no anesthetic/pain.
